It's a .....

Thank you for your votes.....

It's a BOY...blue blue blue

And I must admit I'm a bit blue about it too....but I'll get over it. Just the thought that I'll never have a daughter makes me sad - we won't have another one - we can't afford to and knowing my luck I'd end up with 3 boys!

I keep thinking of little girls at ballet class, of "Are You There God It's Me Margaret", of my child bearing a child - I'll never be Mother of the Bride...I'll never share girly chats with my own girl...Rob is sad too - he wanted a little Daddy's girl.

And I know for all of that there's a ton of boy wonderfulness - but I woulda liked one of each....

I was disappointed last time and I am disappointed this time and this time I'll be disappointed for a little bit longer and I'm not going to beat myself up about it.

He's happy and healthy. And not as big as Oz was which is good news.

But he's not a she. Goodbye daughter dreams...

Look at it this way: you never have to pay for a wedding. Or deal with the horror of teenage PMS.

I know it's bittersweet, though. But I think you're a great mom and, specifically, you're a great mom for boys.

I'm a little sad that I don't get to make a sparkly purple baby blanket for you. I was hoping to go get the yarn today. Time for plan B.

Love you. Love you enough that, when Clara Jane's 13 and making me crazy, I'll gladly ship her your way.

So long, farewell! said...

Sorry it wasn't the news you wanted darlin but as Robin said above - no PMS or wedding to pay for :o)

Love to you and Rob

CONGATULATIONS SALL!!

I know youre feeling blue right now and I would have felt exactly the same way if I hd never had a pink bundle.
Maybe you will have another one day. I seriously think that your finacial situation shouldnt stop you trying for a longed for daughter if thats what you desire.
Who knows what your situation will be in 3 years time?

On the other hand, having two brothers close in age is adorable and something I dont have. The closest are Roo and Sylvie and they are 4 years apart.
Remember, boys love their mummies soo much!

Once your little babytoo is here you wouldn;t want it any different

I think your brave to voice your fears but also you should think about how happy you will be in 20wks time!!!!

I am never right when I guess this sort of thing.

I know it's disappointing but he's going to be a great little guy. That I know.

And you know - Pudge always wanted to have a girl and had only boys. Then she got great daughters in law and has granddaughters.

Maybe you were cut out to have sons and have granddaughters later.

Many congratulations Sally. Sorry it wasn't the colour you wanted, but you've got a lovely healthy baby inside you!

Unfortunately, you'll still probably end up paying for half of each of your boys' weddings!

Hope to see you soon.

Honey!!!! Trust me when this boy is born and you watch him and Oscar grow up together you will be the proudest mother on the planet. I'm sure Jodi will back me up on this when I say that having a houseful of boys/men is just magical. Okay they smell and they're a bit rowdy but when someone tells you what handsome boys you've produced it's like no other feeling.

I wanted a girl and a boy or two girls when I was pregnant with the twins and I was, like you, gutted when they told me it was two boys but within a few hours and a few shed tears I was very excited at the prospect of having two lickle identical men (even though they turned out not to be identical!). And when I was pregnant with Jack over 9 years later it didn't occur to me to want a girl, I just wanted a healthy baby, preferably a lovely little boy, as lovely as the two I've already got.

Just think, another hunk like Oscar - swoooooooon!!

Chin up, you will be fine I promise. I'm here if you want to talk okay

Love
Alx

Congratulations on your blue bundle! For what it's worth, I was mega disappointed that I got a boy with Joe (found out at the scan), but I wouldn't change him for the world - apart from his behaviour from time to time!

Loads of love and cuddles!

Congratulations on your boy bundle! It'll be fab you know having two boys so close in age they'll be such great mates! I have two friends and one cousin who all have two boys and it's lovely. Each boy is so differant from his brother too it's amazing!

Feel free to feel a bit blue though. You have to let yourself mourn the "what could've beens..". I have to admit that despite everyone telling me before-hand that Jove would be a boy I was a bit disappointed when we found out he was a boy as I loved the thought of two little girls close in age and I'd picked out a lovely girl's name.

Don't worry once your boy 2bee is here and you have both the boys together you'll wonder why you ever wanted a girl!

Hello Sal sweetie,
I know you wanted a pinkie, but there is something to be said for boys!! I can only imagine how wonderful it will be when you have two tall wonderful sons who love their mother; and think she is the best. Those big strong hugs you will get. Watching them grow up and become handsome, and watching young ladies love them. And think of the wonderful relationships you will have with girlfriends and wives, the fun of a daughter, but as everyone says - none of the angst. I love my mother in law - she and I genuinely have fun together. She does have a daughter, but that doesn't stop her buying me silly trinkets and pretties:-) She is a mum to me, and you will be a mum to your boy's other halves too. In the meantime you will have another little boy as equally GORGEOUS as Oz - how fantastic is that??? Congratulations Sal - it's gonna be great:-)

Hey baby,

Just remember to count your blessings and those blues will disappear - and I'll do my best to pop out some girls when it's my turn so that you, Anne (two boys) and Orla (two boys) get to buy all the pink frillies you've ever dreamt about.

Lots of love, Pearl xxxxx

Sal, congratulations on a healthy little blue bundle.
We didn't ask what Lucy was when we went for the scan as M was convinced that she was a boy (Hmm?!) so for 22weeks I was convinced that we would have two boys and I felt sad coz I wanted a girl. Don't know why, just because I guess.
I really admire your honesty and as others have said, you will have a whale of a time with baby 2. I have twin cousins who are two years appart, brothers and they are ace together.
Love
Nic

I have 3 boys and I love it! For a start I can feel guilt free when buying Boden, they will all wear it at some point so the extra cost is justified.
I have been told boys are easier than girls too and it's lovely when they play together. My 7 and 4 year olds eat dinner together at school. They really love each other. Have to warn you though, your food bill however may be a little on the large size with a house of boys!
