A week's worth of info...

Sorry I haven't posted! It's been quite a week. On Friday last week, Oscar stopped eating. Not interested in food at all and then he threw up on Friday night. All weekend he wouldn't eat and when he did, threw it up. His cough got a lot worse too.

I took him to the Doctor on Monday and he has a chest infection plus a stomach virus. So no milk until his tummy settles down and antibiotics for his chest - 2 different kinds - plus Calpol.

It's been really worrying. He's been quite happy in himself, just not eating hardly anything. On Monday night he ate some jarred baby food and seemed quite happy. I went out to a friend's house to watch a movie - got back around 11.30pm and went in to check on him. The smell hit me first - vomit - he was covered in it! He'd thrown up everything and rolled about in it in his sleep. We had to wake him up, strip his bed and change it, shower him and calm him down. He was screaming - it was awful - he was totally freaked out. I couldn't let him stay asleep covered in vomit though.....

Yesterday my genius Mum suggested egg in a cup which is what we used to have when we were ill as kids - you mush up a soft boiled egg in a cup with butter. He ate it all and was very happy - and kept it down. Hoorah!

This morning he woke up starving hungry and ate a slice of bread and some weetabix so I think he's on the mend.

It's been stressful and tiring. So apologies for the lack of info.

On the up side the lovely Dixie sent us an item I won on Ebay - a little tray to put on Oscar's car seat so he can play with his toys - he loves it Dix - I'll have to get a picture and post it.

We sent you a goodie parcel yesterday so I hope you get it soon

Ok. My Dad is home at the moment from Tbilisi so we're off out today for dim sum at our favourite restaurant - Royal China.

I've got loads more to tell you all but have to go and get my shit together so will write more later.

Hugs to everyone

Builders

First off, the phone is back on and so is the TV so that's a relief! And the roof is slowly taking shape -the builders are really good but it's still hell living in a building site.....there's dust everywhere even though they're being really careful. And all our conservatory furniture, our fridge and freezer are in the dining room - the only useable space is the front living room which feels very crowded with a highchair and nappy changing station in it!. Oz and I go out all day every day which isn't easy

Monday we went to a place called Adventure Kingdom - a soft play place for kids. It was good for Oz but lonely for me.

Yesterday we hung out at the Park - had a picnic - then went to Monkey Music - though we got stuck in a traffic jam on the way home for an hour - Oz totally lost it - the car was very hot. It's been really really hot this week in London - temperatures around 28 degrees and I hate it.

It was humid and sticky up until yesterday so I should be thankful that it's less oppressive. But I do worry about the boy being out in the sun all day.

Today luckily I have company - going to see a friend in Biggin Hill for a mini birthday party for her daughter who is 1 on Saturday- I can't go to her official party as I have to work so we're having a mini one today!

Tomorrow it's back to Adventure Kingdom - and the same on Friday I think - the best place for him at the moment -he can play with the ball pit, crawl about and stand up - all on soft mats. And I can grab a coffee.

It's tiring though. He's so much more active - I knew this would happen. My back aches from bending down to pick him up again all the time or chasing after him.

But he's so happy that he can move....it's such fun for him! Hoorah for places like Adventure Kingdom!

His first father's day

In honour of his first Father's Day - here is my husband and his son Posted by Hello

Rob is an amazing father. Truly. I always knew he would be but he still amazes me. He puts Oscar to bed every night (except for the last few Saturdays because Dr Who has been on!). He bathes him, reads to him, gives him his bottle and sings him lullabies.

He has fun in the daytime too. Takes him into the garden to look at bugs. Turns himself into a human seesaw. Pulls silly faces and makes his son giggle for hours.

Creeps into his room at night to gaze in wonder at his beautiful boy.

My husband is amazing. He's the best father he could be. And father's day this year was kind of sucky - 33 degrees (we hate the heat) and a day preparing the house for builders.

So I wanted to write this to tell him how amazing he is - and how much his son loves him and in Father's Days to come, Oscar will tell Rob himself. Until then - I will do it. Rob. You're amazing.

Thank you for being the best Daddy in the world.

Love from your wife and your little baby boy.

Feeling like the universe is conspiring against me....

Our Sky TV stopped working last week - certain channels won't work at all and the ones that do are very wobbly. An engineer came today and couldn't fix it. So we have no TV.

Our phone line is dead. The internet connection is working sporadically - very wierd.....but the phone is dead. Won't be fixed till Thursday. So we have no phone.

There has been a heatwave here - unbearably hot. Energy sapping heat - you move for more than a minute and you break out in a sweat. The car was so hot, Oscar's car seat nearly burned him. So we have no energy!

The builders arrive tomorrow morning to replace the roof on our extension and dig up our garden. We have to clear out the whole of the back of the house and move the fridge and freezer into the dining room. So we have no space.

We had so much to do this weekend and we haven't done hardly any yet as it's too hot to move.

Oscar has been very grumpy cos he's been in all weekend and he's also hot. There's a fan in his room but it's still 26 degrees in there.....

I'm sorry if I'm winging. I think I'm pre-menstrual - or just too bloody hot!

The next couple of weeks is going to be really hard - living in a building site. No access to the garden or half of my kitchen.

Send me happy thoughts!

He waved!

Oz has a new trick. He can wave!!! We had a brilliant day today - met one of my Ya Yas from America - Julie - who I have met before but haven't seen for 4 years! We had a lovely day - on the London Eye - I can't believe I've never been up there before. Oscar had a wonderful time crawling around the glass sided pod - he got totally filthy but really loved pressing his face up against the glass. Then as we left the staff at the photo booth waved at him and he waved back! I managed to get a film of it on my digital camera but I don't know how to post it here....

I'll post a photo of him up in the air.

We had fish and chips for lunch and spent the afternoon in Covent Garden - Oscar was an angel all day....

I'm knackered and my feet hurt but I had a blast....

Your IQ Is 90

Your Logical Intelligence is Below Average
Your Verbal Intelligence is Genius
Your Mathematical Intelligence is Below Average

This is very accurate for me - genius talking - logic and maths a total dunce!

Tee hee!

(the html cut and paste isn't showing properly but I don't know how to fix it cos I'm not logical....)

Fun fun fun. Ok now i really am going to go get my dinner....

Sunnier weather and sunnier baby

He got better. Don't know what was up with him that day but it passed quickly. We've had a good week - manic but good - been down to Canterbury on Wednesday to see my lovely friend Julie - and Ty, if you're reading this, she's married to Marcus "voice of Big Brother" Bentley. She's got us tickets to go to the final night which is cool - Marcus has been promising them for years but has finally come through this year!

I love Canterbury - had never been there before - and Oscar was an angel on the drive there - it only took just over an hour so we'll be going back. Saw Julie and her 3 kids who I hadn't seen for 2 years. And I got sunburnt! I remembered to suncream the boy, but forgot myself.

It was really hot on Thursday so we had a quiet morning in the paddling pool - my Mum came round to play - and then singing and signing in the afternoon. Today we had to go up to London so I could have a medical for my life insurance (totally pointless - just to check I don't smoke I had to do a saliva test which was pretty much it). Navigating central London with a pram isn't easy - walking down Oxford Street is manic anyway but people just don't look where they are going and don't expect to see a buggy so trip up on us all the time.

This afternoon we had a surprise tea party for my friend Miranda - I met her through the NCT antenatal classes - we were pregnant together and her daughter Lucy is about 3 weeks younger than Oz. She's moving to Tunbridge so we surprised her with cucumber sandwiches, scones and....I was supposed to bring strawberries but since I was up in town, I bought a dozen Krispy Kremes instead! YUMMMMM.....Sod the diet for the day.

So that's my week! DH is out tonight at the Catford Beer Festival - god help me when he gets home. Oz just fell asleep beautifully. I'm off to watch Big Brother in a bit after I've foraged my dinner.....

Hope you're all having fun wherever you are.....

Am I evil for taking pictures of him crying? Posted by Hello

Not a happy bunny Posted by Hello

Oscar has been like this all day today. Woke up at 5.40am and took it from there. Nothing made him happy except his swimming lesson - he paused in his tears to show off beautifully and swim on his own with the float. Then when we got out he lost it in the changing rooms and has been that way all the rest of the day. There was a brief respite for Monkey Music though he was quite pissed off all through that because I wouldn't let him crawl about and kept trying to sing songs with him and introduce him to instruments - how dare I....

Not a fun day for Mummy.

I didn't have a cream tea....

but did eat lots of other yumminess - the caterer on the film was amazing.

But to start at the beginning. It was a nightmare getting there. I'd arranged for my Mum to look after Oscar for me again on Thursday night (she'd done it on Thursday morning) so I could get the early train down - arrived at Waterloo as I'd been told only to find the train didn't exist. There were no trains to Newton Abbot. Rang the producer who told me to go to Paddington and get a different train. Bombed across London with a heavy bag to find that that train didn't exist either. Finally got on a train - a First Great Western - but my ticket was a South West Trains one - I'd checked with the producer who said I would be able to use it - checked with the information desk at Paddington who confirmed this.....

Got a very grumpy conductor on the train who wouldn't accept it. Wouldn't speak to my producer on the phone. Wouldn't budge until I paid £109.50 for my ticket.

I got to Devon at 11.30pm....YAWN!!! Everyone was very apologetic!

Filming started at 9 on Friday - I didn't do anything all day except for one shot - so I helped the caterer out a lot - I made the sandwiches with him and helped him bake the BEST EVER brownies. People thought I was his assistant - didn't realise I was an actor!

We filmed the rest of my stuff yesterday - on the edge of a cliff - it was an amazing view but a bugger to get to - had to wade through muddy streams and nettles to get to where the camera was .

The crew were more inexperienced than I had thought but I hope it looks good - I haven't done a film for no money for ages like this. Victoria Hamilton was a sweetheart - really really lovely and so tiny! And Khalide who played the other character was a lovely man - so a good weekend. But knackering.

I missed Oscar so much! I couldn't believe it. I've been lavishing attention on him all morning (apart from the last few minutes typing this) and am very happy to be home.

I had my haircut again - it's much shorter - I'll take a pic.

Hope you're all having fun - now I'm off to the BB website to catch up!

Off to Devon I go

I'm off down to the South West of England tomorrow to film "Pretty Dolly Robson" - the short film I got a few weeks ago. I'm really looking forward to it, although I will miss the little ginger man I call my son. We had great fun today - went swimming and he also tried out his new toy - I filled his paddling pool with balls and made an indoor ball pool for him (he's so spoilt). He loves it - I couldn't find the camera so I didn't take pics but I will.

So I'll be back on Sunday and will tell you all about it. Hopefully the weather will be nice and we'll have time for a cream tea (can't go to Devon and not have a cream tea).

I'm off to Sassoons again tomorrow to have my hair cut again as it's so much longer now and looks rubbish. So busy busy busy as usual.

Hope you all have nice weekends and see you next week. Mwah Mwah (I'm in actor mode)

Trailer for my vampire movie

I'm a bit miffed cos I'm not in the trailer much but it looks amazing- this is the film I finished when pregnant. I play an enormous psychopathic vampire! There's loads of info on the website - the site launched today so go have a look and look at the trailer as it's fab!

www.amberpictures.co.uk and click on The Witches Hammer film.

I'm very impressed and I was part of it!

ps- Ty - Big Brother is good - though it's on too late for me to watch it some nights. I love Mekosi and hope she gets to tell them she's being evil on purpose....
